The Montreal Canadiens feature one of the deepest offensive groups we’ve seen in decades. Yes, the centre position is still a question mark. Nick Suzuki is now the undisputed 1C for the next decade. Christian Dvorak is a safe 2C for the next few years. Beyond those two young players, the situation is a little murky. Jake Evans is a great story and will start the year as the team’s 3C – but on a contending team, he’d probably be a 4C. A really good 4C. For now, the 4C is a toss up between Paquette, newly acquired Adam Brooks,…

This has been an offseason for the ages, and for all the wrong reasons. Coming off one of the greatest highs many Habs fans have had in their lives (if not, decades), we had to endure the stress of potentially losing Carey Price to Seattle, we learned that Shea Weber’s careers may be over, our team made an incredibly controversial draft pick, we lost Joel Bouchard, we lost Corey Perry, we lost Phillip Danault and to top it all off, we lost Jesperi Kotkaniemi to a bunch of jerks. But it’s not all bad. There’s still room for optimism. The…

Well, it’s been a ride. Jesperi Kotkaniemi is officially headed to the Carolina Hurricanes, after the Montreal Canadiens announce that they will not be matching the offer sheet tendered by their Southern rivals last Saturday afternoon. https://twitter.com/CanadiensMTL/status/1434264047046778884?s=20 The 6’2″, 201lb centre, drafted 3rd overall in 2018, takes his talents to a team that plans to contend this season (despite some questionable offseason moves, frankly, including this one), and leaves a team that already had massive question marks at the centre ice position before this offer sheet was tendered and signed. How did we get here? Kotkaniemi’s young career was marked…

In July 2016, two Habs fans decided that their offline conversations about their beloved Montreal Canadiens could use a platform, a place where they could share their hockey thoughts and interact with fellow fans. And so Habs Chronicle was born. What started as a little Twitter page with a few hundred followers evolved into something much bigger. A website was created, and a team was born. Over a few years, we built a team of aspiring journalists and fans with a desire and talent to write about the Habs. A platform for two brothers to share their thoughts became a…
